Skills Courses

Students are required to pass two skills courses in the major: one in written communication, and one in oral communication. Senior Research in Biology (BIOL 351) satisfies the writing requirements.  Other biology courses that fulfill one of the three skills requirements are:
  Written communication:

BIOL 222 Animal Behavior
BIOL 342  Cell and Molecular Biology

Oral communication:  BIOL 303 Principles of Development
BIOL 310  Evolution
BIOL 316 Seminar in Conservation Biology
Six credits in Quantitative Reasoning are required for graduation; they do not have to be courses in the major but they must be taken in at least two different departments. You may use any of the following courses to satisfy part of the Quantitative Reasoning requirement:
BIOL 113  Introductory Laboratory Techniques
BIOL 320  Topics in Biomathematics
BIOL 324 Ecology
BIOL 326 Comparative Animal Physiology
